Please remember to read and record on your child’s Reading Log nightly.  It is essential that he/she is reading every night.  By reading at least 20 minutes a night, your student will develop critical thinking skills, and can have improved grades in every subject area.  Your child needs to be reading at least 47 words per minute (wpm) at the end of 1st grade.  

 Please continue to read with your child and discuss the book or passaage by asking about the main idea, problem and solution, characters, etc. Students should be able to retell the story after reading.

  We know that every student can reach their goal of at least 47 words per minute.  We have worked very hard this year!
